School will be in session on Monday, January 30.  Do you have it marked on your calendar?  This is a change from the original district calendar that was mailed to you last summer.  January 30 is now a school day.

Perry Technical Institute College Visit Jan. 19 @12:30pm +  

Perry Technical Institute is a 1 or 2 year Technical school offering degrees in areas such as Legal Assistant, Medical Coding, HVAC/R IT &Communcation Systems and more. Students and parents interested please plan to attend.

FAFSA registration Workshop January 19th @7pm +  

Parents of Seniors!! FAFSA Workshop: There will be an hour long FAFSA workshop on Jan. 19th from7pm-8pm in the Computer Lab. This workshop will be conducted by Scott Palmer, Director of Financial Aid from Northwest Christian University. He will be here in the computer lab to walk you through, step by step, the registration process. There are a limited number of computer stations available, so this will be a registration required workshop. Call or stop by to reserve your spot NOW.

School Resource Officer Aaron Johns to speak Tuesday at 6:30 +  

The Lancer Parent Association is hosting Officer Aaron Johns Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at 6:30 in the Churchill library.  He will speak about his role in the school and community and answer questions from parents.  Please join us!

School-to-Careers January News and Deadlines +  

4j-ACT Sponsorship applications are due Thursday, January 12. This is a fantastic opportunity for 24 Churchill seniors to attend a year at Lane Community College with books, fees, and tuition paid, and a personal 4j-ACT/LCC advisor. Eligible students must have taken at least one credit in a core academy class: AV Academy – Graphic Arts, Health Services Academy, or Rachel Carson/Environmental Sciences Academy.

 

The 2012Apprenticeships in Science and Engineering program application is due Friday, January 20. ASE matches 9th through 11th grade students with scientists and engineers for 8-week summer internships. See Mary Beth at the School-to-Careers desk for more information or go to http://www.saturdayacademy.org/ASE. Why spend a summer with ASE?

Two Work Study paid positions are open for interested juniors and seniors with at least a C average GPA. Work in the downtown District office in the afternoons.
