We all want our kids to graduate and successfully transition into adulthood. We’re here to help. The Career Center is here to aid parents just as much as students. We urge you to take advantage of all we have to offer, from checking on your child’s graduation progress to researching scholarship opportunities and attending college visits. Call (541-790-5115), email (hoell_b@4j.lane.edu) or drop in to see Betsy Hoell and her amazing staff of parent volunteers.

Juniors:

You should finish your Junior projects by the end of the month. Betsy has completed her visits to English classes to go over the requirements and deadlines. If you do not have an English class and don’t have a packet you must come to the career center and make an appointment to get your packet.

Seniors:

Graduation is coming up fast! Are you ready? Stop by the career center and make sure you’ve got all your graduation requirements met:

  1. Development of a 4 Year Education Plan and Profile including the Sophomore and Junior Career Center Projects.
  2. Completion of Community Service: 40 hours CHC, 130 hours IHS
  3. Completion of an Extended Application Project (LEAP) which challenges and helps students apply academic and career related knowledge and skills. This activity will be completed during the junior or senior year.

Parents of Seniors: Feel free to contact us any time to check your student’s status. Sorry Seniors, it had to be done.

Seniors should complete the online FAFSA form (2013-1014) beginning in January, 2013.  Help is available! See Betsy (in the career center), Oscar or Shannon.

All seniors who already have a PIN should stop by the Career Center and let Betsy know the good news.
