Leadership Students:

There will not be class this Friday morning.  Please remember you have a paper due to Ms. Finch by June 1st.  The assignment is on the board in room F-45.

Track Banquet:

The Track banquet will be held Tuesday, May 28th at 6:30pm in the Cafeteria.  Please bring a dessert.

Football:

The high quality of Churchill Football tradition continues.  There will be an important meeting for parents, players, and coaches at Churchill’s cafeteria 7:00 to 9:00pm tomorrow night.  Information on spring ball, summer conditioning, summer football camp, gear check out, and many more important items.

Basketball:

There will be a boys summer basketball informational meeting tomorrow at 5:30pm in the Library.

WISE:

The Wise Leader Luncheon will be tomorrow, at lunch!

Career Center:

Juniors: Stop by the Career Center today from 2:00-4:00pm.  We are having an Open House to help you plan for your Senior year and College applications.

The Career Center has updated the community service board to include summer service opportunities.  Stop by and see featured items like the Eugene Police Department’s summer camp “Safety Town” – deadline June 1st and OSU’s Ocean Watch Summer Camp – deadline Friday.

The application deadline for the Early Start Visual and Performing Arts Scholarship has been extended to Friday.  If you aim to pursue your talent in art, music, or drama after high school, stop by the Career Center to pick up an application.

Remember to order your final transcripts for college.  Forms are in the Registrar’s office.

CHS Boys Basketball Camp 2013

Head Coach Kelly Bokn will be directing the Churchill Boys Basketball Camp from June 24-27th from 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM at the Churchill High School gymnasium.

Grades 2nd-8th grade are invited to attend.

Cost for the Camp is $45 dollars that includes a camp t-shirt.

Registration is at the door on June 24th beginning at 8 AM.

5/23 Boys Summer Basketball Informational Meeting

There will be a boys summer basketball informational meeting on Thursday, May 23rd at 5:30 PM in the Library.

Any student and/or parent can attend that is interested in trying out for the summer basketball teams.

Today after 10AM you may sign up for walking partners in teh Front Office. Both partners must be present to sign up, and BOTH partners must be completely cleared of all Fees and Grad Requirements.

Remember to order your final transcripts for college. Forms are in the Registrar’s Office.

Career Center:

The Career Ctr has updated community service board to include summer opportunities.

The application deadline for the Early Start Visual and Performing Arts Scholarship has been extended to May 24th. Pick up application in Career Ctr.

Counseling:

Important Announcement for Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors: Today is the last day to forecast for the classes you want to take next year. See your counselor today if you need help forecasting. If you do not compete forecasting today, your classes will be selected for you.

Prom tickets are here!! They will be sold in the Student Store during lunch and after school today. Make sure to bring your student ID. Also, worried about parking on Prom night? Don’t be, there is free parking in the parking structure and you can be dropped off at the front door on Willamette street.

Attention Senior Athletes:

If you are receiving a scholarship to play sports in college, please see Julie Stelle in the Student Personnel Office and let her know.

AP Testing:

AP testers.  If you are taking an AP test this week, you need to arrive at the Valley Covenant Church across the street from Churchill, at 7:40am the morning of your test.  Bring a #2 pencil and a black or blue ink pen.

Graduation Tickets

Round One for Seniors and parents to buy graduation tickets begins today, May 15.

  • Finance Office is open 9AM-1PM, and 2PM-4PM.
  • Each student must be CLEARED of all Fees and Grad Requirements BEFORE tickets may be bought.
  • Each student gets two FREE tickets, and may buy up to five more at $5/each.

Round Two begins next week, May 23.

6/10/13 will be a make-up day for students, with IA access in the morning. No formal classes will be held this day.

Lancer Parent Association Meeting Agenda May 14th, 2013
1.  EEF Information- Eugene Educational Fund was asked to attend this meeting to help parents understand how the fund works and how it also raises money for grants which many schools in the Churchill region receive. Questions around  the following: •How fast money can be accessed after it’s donated ( is it within a week of donation,  monthly, quarterly)-consider situations  donors pledge $500 but then donate so much per month into that equation. •Who can access the money?  Teacher, parents, etc •How do the schools access funds?  Do they need to show receipts for money spent?  Can they obtain the funds and then purchase the materials or supplies needed? 

2. Administrator report: update on accreditation, survey results of freshman and sophomores, other updates.

5. Request for graphing calculators for math department.-Does LPA want to provide money to math department?

9. Voting for Open  Officer positions for 2013-2014:

Co-chairperson- this can be two positions or a co-chairperson and vice co-chairperson. Secretary- this position has been open since February when the previous secretary had to resign. Descriptions of these positions are included in the LPA bylaws which are posted on the LPA website
