T-Shirts:

State Basketball T-Shirts are on sale today. They will be $5.00 and you can purchase them before school, during break, lunch and after school. There is a limited amount so make sure you get one. See Kajsa for more information.

AP:

Are you taking an AP exam? The deadline to register for your AP test is fast approaching! You must sign up with Ken in the Finance office by Tuesday, March 18th.

Hospitality Opportunity:

We still need host family homes for two of our guest Chinese students next week. These are two boys. If you can help please see Mr. B or Julie Stelle as soon as possible.

Leadership:

Clubs:

The University Fellowship group meets every Thursday for lunch and fellowship in Room J-28 during the lunch period. Everyone is welcome to join this fun fellowship group. See you at lunch tomorrow.

Counseling Dept:

Students who may need to make change to their trimester 3 schedules should talk with counselors this week and next. Please sign up in the counseling department.

College and Career Center:

Juniors: On April 4th universities in the Oregon University System will be on campus to provide information and answer questions about their schools. There will be an overview of the system in the Auditorium at 9:00am followed by breakout sessions. Places and times to be announced.

Attention Seniors!  The senior class photo is happening tomorrow between 2nd and 3rd period at the rock.  All seniors at the rock Wednesday.

Need community service hours?  Want to help the homeless?  Come to Change for Change, Wednesdays at lunch in room H-5 to find out more.

College and Career Center:

The deadline to submit the Rotary Youth Leadership Academy application is April 1st.  Submit completed applications to the College and Career Center.  If you don’t have an application and want one, they are available in the College and Career Center.

College and Career Center:

Are you interested in a career in teaching? Come to the College and Career Center to find out about three great scholarship opportunities.

Seniors, the Beyond High School Network is sponsoring a scholarship drawing. 6 lucky winners will receive $500.00. The deadline to enter the drawing is March 13th. See the College and Career Center for entry forms.

Rachel Carson students are holding a bottle cap drive and need your help. Bottle caps are not recyclable. Put yours in the collecting bins in any classroom and they will be used to create art. The drive will continue until spring break.

Prom:

Prom will be having a special fundraiser at the planters during lunch. For only $1.00 guess the number of candies in a jar. Whoever gets closest gets the jar and a free prom ticket.

Sports:

The Varsity boys’ basketball playoff game is Saturday, 7PM at home, vs. Cleveland. Come and support your Lancers!

Hospitality Opportunity:

Churchill will be welcoming 20 students from China during the week of March 15th through the 21st. These students will attend classes at the high school on March 17th, 18th, and 19th. On March 20th and 21st, they will be engaged in group activities to see some of the local sights and attractions. We are still very much in need of host families for some of these students. If you would be interested in this experience, please contact Dennis Biggerstaff at 541-790-5105 or Morgan Christensen at 541-790-5114.

Security:

Important! There has been a rash of thefts around the campus lately. Please remember to LOCK UP your belongings. If they are not in a locked locker, they are at risk! This includes items in the gym locker rooms. Please lock them in a locker so they won’t be taken.

Girls Golf:

To all girls interested in playing golf this spring: There will be an informational meeting at lunch today in room H-12.

College and Career Center:

Seniors: The deadline to submit honors diploma applications is April 4th. Pick up an application in the College and Career Center.

The dates of the Rotary Youth Leadership Academy have changed to June 23rd through 28th. Updated information is available in the College and Career Center. Applications are due in the College and Career Center by April 1st.

O-BECK Consulting Engineers is offering a paid, three-month summer internship for a graduating senior interested in Civil Engineering. Pick up a job description at the School-to-Careers Office in the STEM building or in the College and Career Center. Deadline to apply is today.

Sophomores, PLAN test results are now available. The College and Career Center will be holding information sessions to explain just what those scores mean. Sessions are during lunch. Please sign up in the College and Career Center for any one session tomorrow, Thursday, March 6th, Friday March 7th, or Monday, March 10th. We will meet in the STEM conference room.
