Class Elections 2014-15

Class Officers/Elections:

Do you want to become a leader at Churchill High School? Office elections for 2014-15 are coming up!
We need Sophomore, Junior and Senior officers as well as ASB officers.

AP:

Are you registered to take an AP exam? If so, you must attend the “Pre registration session” Wednesday, at 8:30am. Please meet in the auditorium and bring a #2 pencil.

Mr. Lancer:

Mr. Lancer tickets are now on sale by the planters. The tickets are $10.00 each and on sale all week. The pageant is this Friday. Don’t miss out, tickets will sell out.

Cheer:

Students interested in trying out for the 2014-2015 Churchill cheerleading team, please be sure to pick up a tryout packet in the office this week. Cheerleading tryouts begin this Saturday at 10:00am in the Gym. Pick up a packet for all the information and the paperwork you need to try out for cheer!

College and Career Center:

Alternative Views on Military Recruiting representatives will be here on Thursday, during lunch in the office conference room. Alternative Views on the Military Recruiting representatives have information for students who are thinking of enlisting in the military after high school.

National Honor Society:

Community Service:

There is a Churchill Track meet here tomorrow and help is still needed for the meet. Signup sheets are in the College and Career Center if you are interested in picking up some community service hours.

Last Day of School 2014

Last Day of School for 9/10/11th Grades: June 17
(Last Day for Seniors: June 11)

June 17 will be the final day of school this year. It will be an early release day for students.

The final day had been tentative because any additional “snow days” (days when all schools are closed due to hazardous weather) were expected to be made up at the end of the year.

With the likelihood of winter weather now past, the district has announced that the final day of school will be June 17.

Attendance:

Beginning this spring, there will be a school-wide competition to see which class can improve their overall attendance the most. There will be displays in the student lounge and the front office to show who is getting to class more: Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors or Seniors? What will the prize be? Judy and Ian will give more details during the morning announcements next week – Stay tuned.

Willamette High School is offering practice SAT/ACT tests this Saturday, starting at 8:00am. If you want to take a practice test, sign up in the College and Career Center by 1:00pm today.

“Every 15 Minutes” Assembly/Program

Every 15 Minutes:

Tomorrow, Tuesday 4/15, is the start of a two day interactive assembly on teen drinking and driving prevention.

The Every 15 Minute Assembly will consist of a mock car crash on Tuesday, April 15th (for juniors and seniors) and an all school assembly on Wednesday, April 16th. Throughout Tuesday, a small group of students will help to provide a visual representation of the fatal car crash statistics in this country by engaging in a role play activity. On Wednesday, they will lead the school in an all school pledge to help stop impaired driving. If you are uncomfortable attending this assembly, the library will be open and students will be asked to sign in for attendance. Additional counseling support will also be available throughout the day. Please tell an adult if you need to speak with someone.

On Wednesday, 4/16, the lunch menu will be BBQ foods in the courtyard. Please pay inside first and receive your ticket. Prices are as follows:
Free/Reduced = .40
Paid = $3.25
Adults = $4.00
