Seniors:

It’s time to order your Cap and Gown, Graduation Announcements and Class Ring.  Orders will be taken at school on Monday, October 13th and Tuesday, October 14th during lunch in the Student Lounge. Don’t forget to bring your order forms and deposit money.

Walk and Bike to School Day:

“The Rachel Carson Academy” is sponsoring International Walk and Bike to School Day next Wednesday.  Students who arrive by bike, skateboard or by foot will receive free chocolate and will be entered to win Free gift cards and prizes.  After your arrival to school, stop by our tables at the main entrance next Wednesday before 1st period to be entered to win.

Great Rotary Duck Race:

Do you want to herd ducks for community service hours?  Are you at least 16 years old?  Then come help the Eugene Rotary Club at the Great Rotary Duck Race.  Proceeds benefit local non profit organizations.  Please look for the Great Rotary Duck Race flyers in the College and Career Center and around the school for contact information.

Latino Student Union:

Come to Latino Student Union tomorrow in room G-29 @ 8:30 am. All are welcome!!

Interact Club:

Need community service hours?  Come to Interact Club on Wednesday, at lunch in room F-36.  See you there!

Awakening Club:

Come to Awakening Club meeting in Mr. Eagen’s room during lunch on Thursday.  This week we will be talking about the fall of man into sin, so come join us.

Key Club:

Are you interested in helping the community while gaining leadership skills? If so, you should come join Key Club by attending weekly meetings every Wednesday at lunch in Mrs. Halemeier’s room, H20.

Hey all you horse riders and equestrians–Did you know that Churchill’s Equestrian Team is the defending champion of the South Valley division?  We are having our first meeting of the year Wednesday.  Bring your lunch to the meeting and find out about competing on the team all year.  All interested riders are welcome! – Again, that’s the Churchill Equestrian Team meeting Wednesday, at lunch, in room J-28.

Lancer Gear:

Come buy some cool Lancer gear in the front office.  We have pom-poms, spirit beads, mega phones, foam fingers and much more.

Are you interested in going to a University of California system?  There will be a webinar to answer all your questions, on Thursday from 12:00-1:00 in the College and Career Center.

Please come and vote for your favorite songs to play at homecoming, this week during lunch at the planters. This will be the last week we will be doing this!  This is your time to have your voice be heard and at this time we will take any request but have to be school appropriate.

Churchill Equestrian Team:

Lunchtime Boundaries:

If you go off campus at lunch you may not go up the hill toward Kennedy.  The park is as far as you may go.

If you checked out library books for the summer the due date was last Friday.  Overdue fines are 25 cents per day after the due date.  Thank you for returning your books.

College and Career Center:

An Admission representative from the University of Portland will be here tomorrow, during lunch.  Meet in the College and Career Center.

South Eugene Rowing Club:

South Eugene Rowing Club Try-Outs are this week.  All 4j area highschoolers can try crew for free, no experience necessary.  Practice starts after school outside South Eugene IHS wing, with a bus out to Dexter Lake Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and land training in between.  Interested?  Check out our website, print out a waiver found under registration, and come row with us.

Spanish Study Club:

The Spanish Study Club is meeting today at lunch in room F-46.

Leadership:

Freshmen, would you like to represent your class in leadership? If so applications can be picked up starting today in room B-17 or the front office and need to be turned by this Thursday the 25th.

Girls Basketball

Any girls interested in play basketball this year, there will be an open gym this Thursday from 4-5:30pm.

Churchill Rewards Card

Hey Lancers did you know that Churchill has a rewards cards? Something that will help you save money? It’s your ASB card! Your card will get you into games, dances, plays, and any other extracurricular activities at a discounted if not free rate. Without an ASB card you pay full price for the event. So if you haven’t already done so, get your ASB card today. Remember, you must present either an ID or an ASB card at every event you attend. So carry it with you everywhere. “What’s in your wallet”? If you don’t have a Churchill ID, you can get one made today or tomorrow, 2nd period and lunch in the campus supervisor’s office.

Welcome Back Assembly and Dance

This Friday is our “welcome back assembly and dance”. We want all students to wear their school colors and sit in their respective areas for the assembly. Signs will be up to direct you as to where to sit. The dance begins at 9:00pm at the rock and is Free that’s free to all freshmen. All other CHS students will pay $1.00 with ASB card and $3.00 without. This dance is only for CHS students.

College and Career Center

An admissions representative from Middlebury College located in Vermont will be here on Thursday, September 18th after school. She will provide information about admissions, housing, financial aid and student life. Interested juniors and seniors are invited to attend.

South Eugene Rowing Club:

Looking for a fun yet challenging after school sport that has been called the “ultimate team sport”? Then look no further than the South Eugene Rowing Club! We are a club sport based at South Eugene and open to all Eugene-area guys and girls 8th – 12th grades. We practice every day after school.
