Forecasting Schedule

Dear Parents/Guardians,

The end of the school year is approaching fast. While current CHS seniors are busy making plans for graduation and life beyond high school, the upcoming freshmen, sophomores and juniors are forecasting for their 2015-16 school year classes. Most of the current sophomores and juniors should have completed their forecasting by now, however those that haven’t should come by the counselor’s area during a free period, at lunch, and/or before or after school. Students may also report

Wednesday, April 29 from 8:15 – 9:15 in the STEM Building and Friday, May 1 from 12:30 – 2:30 to the STEM Building to complete this task.

While viewing student’s course selections it would also be worthwhile to review CHS’s course catalog. The catalog contains the courses available next year including a description and other useful academic planning information about graduation requirements, career pathways, and much more. The catalog is a great resource to guide student’s and parent’s course selections. All information is available under the Forecasting Information link found on the CHS website. The window to add or remove classes will close May 8. We recommend for parents/guardians to take a look at their student’s course selections. This can easily be done by going to ParentVUE on the CHS website and toggling “Course Requests”.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact the counselors via email or phone.

Congratulations to Bella Anglin, Recipient of the Gates Millennium Scholarship!

Bella Anglin is one of 1000 recipients out of a pool of 52,000 applicants for the Gates Millennium Scholarship. Bella keeps the CHS tradition going; we have had 6 recipients in the last 5 years – the most of any school in Eugene-Springfield and perhaps the state. The scholarship, sponsored by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, will pay for all of Bella’s undergraduate and graduate education. Bella will be attending Seattle University next fall. Congratultions to her and to all who helped her on the journey!
