Thank You!

Thank you to Raquell Johnson-Mendoza, Talib Lamont, Tyler Nickell and Devon Wallace for representing Churchill at the school choice meeting last night. You all did a great job sharing with 8th grade families why CHS is a great place!

Girls Lacrosse:

Come try lacrosse this Sunday, 10:00 to noon, at Churchill. No equipment needed. It will be great.

Math Club:

Math Club remember, the first AMC will be Tuesday, from 3:45 to 5:00pm. Don’t be late! We will be having our regular Math Club meeting on Monday as well. See you then.

College and Career Center:

An admissions representative from New Hope Christian College will be here on Monday, February 1st at 12:15 in the College and Career Center. Juniors and Seniors are invited to attend.

An admissions representative from Oregon Institute of Technology will be here Wednesday, February 3rd at 12:45 in the College and Career Center. If you are planning or thinking about going to OIT, this session is for you.

The deadline to apply for admission to Oregon State is Monday, February 1st. If you have not requested your transcript from Shannon or Sheree you must do so by the end of school today.

School-to-Careers:

The Real World Series is coming back on Friday, February 5th from 12:30-3:15! Sign up today! Get ready to practice your job search skills, resume and application writing, how to apply for a trade apprenticeship,
and learn a thing or two about finance. Join us for pizza and workshops with representatives from Work Source Lane, the trades union, and Wells Fargo Bank. Sign up sheets are outside the School-to-Career office in the STEM building and the College & Career Center. Seating is limited to 45 students.

Lancer Pageant:

Attention all Seniors today is the last day of voting for your Lancer Pageant contestants. Be at the planters during lunch to cast your vote.

College and Career Center:

An admissions representative from New Hope Christian College will be in the College and Career Center on Monday, at 12:15pm. New Hope is a small private school just blocks from Churchill.

An admissions representative from Oregon Institute of Technology will be in the College and Career Center next Wedensdaiy at 12:45pm. If you are interested in health careers this is a great opportunity for you. Juniors and Seniors are invited to attend.

Congratulations to Megan Groves who was chosen Eugene’s Future First Citizen! Megan was chosen from 6 amazing young men and women, thank you to all CHS and IHS staff who supported Megan in her
accomplishments.

RESCHEDULED Mandatory Junior Meeting

The Mandatory Junior Class meeting that was published in the January 11th G’Lancer has been rescheduled from January 27 to February 10. Here are the details:

*Mandatory Junior Class Meeting: February 10, 8:45 a.m. *RESCHEDULED*

February 10, 8:45-9:30 (before first period on late-start Wednesday)

CHS Auditorium

CHS Counselors and Career/College Advisers will be presenting critical information pertaining to the steps Juniors need to be taking to meet their graduation requirements. Students will also be receiving back their PSAT test booklets along with information about how to interpret their official PSAT scores in preparation for upcoming SAT’s.

Parents – please make sure to ask your daughter or son about the meeting and to see their scores.

Again, all Juniors are required to attend this meeting.
