Rachel Carson Academy welcomes Our Children’s Trust

The Rachel Carson Academy welcomed 6 of the 21 youth plaintiffs that will be represented tomorrow (September 13th) in the federal court hearing of Juliana, et al v. United States. The 21 brave youth plaintiffs are working to secure the right to a stable climate and healthy atmosphere for all present and future generations. The case will be in the national spotlight and includes 6 young people from Eugene and 15 others from around the United States.

Rachel Carson students also learned from UO Law Professor Mary Wood last Friday about the groundbreaking case. Special thank you to Rye Oommen and Tyee Adkins for putting the Rachel Carson Academy in touch with Mary Wood!

There will be a march in solidarity and support leaving from South Eugene High School to the Federal Courthouse tomorrow morning. The group of youth will meet in the South Eugene parking lot at 8:40am.
