Yearbook: Baby pic space available

Dear Families,

Our Yearbook has been quite a challenge so far, but the 2016-2017 CHS Yearbook staff is finally ready for those beautiful Senior Baby Ads for the Class of 2017!  Ads will include your baby picture and a message of no more than forty [40] words. Time is of the essence and space is limited, so don’t delay!

  • Photo and message must be received before Spring Break – Friday, March 24th
  • Please send only digital photos or digital scans of printed photos
  • Important! – pics must be 300 dpi for our Yearbook printing plan

Pricing:

Quarter (¼) page = $25;                      Half (½) page = $50;               Full page = $100

  • Payment can be made to Ken in our Finance Office
  • Receipt should then go to Mr. Squires for verification (scanned into an email will work, too)
  • Send photo by email, along with your message, to squires_d@4j.lane.edu; please be sure to include

your student’s name, your name(s), and your relationship to the student

Congratulations

Congratulations to Senior Sam Jensen. Sam is one of only 50 students nationwide to receive the Oregon State University Presidential award. Sam will receive $10,000 per year for 4 years. Congratulations, Sam!

Today: Boys basketball plays in the final four today at 3:15pm vs. Parkrose High School at Gill Coliseum.

The Band will be loading at 1245pm and departing at 1pm.

The rooter bus will be loading at 130pm and departing at 145pm.

The cheer team will load the activity van at 130pm and depart at 145pm. Go Lancers!

Parents – A lot is happening at school with testing and graduation preparation.

Students –

Staff – The use of “No Red Ink” software for Language Arts classes has been an effective tool. The new system of assessing students for the Oregon Essential Skills. We have reduced the number of classes required to remediate student skills which has provided additional elective classes.

Classified – Request to look at the preferred process for parents requesting students to be picked up from school.

Administration – We are in the process of putting together the staffing plan for 2017-18. In addition, students have been working on completing their forecasting plan for next year. Student will have until March 17 to complete their forecasting requests. Middle school visitation will occur in April followed by an enrollment night for new incoming students.

CHS Senior Earns OSU Presidential Award

Congratulations to Senior Sam Jensen! He was awarded OSU’s top honor and academic award for incoming freshman, the Presidential Award. He will be receiving $10,000 per year towards his tuition! He was presented this award and a bunch of OSU science swag in a surprise presentation in front of family and friends.

Lancer Pageant

Don’t forget that tonight is Lancer Pageant Bunco night at 7pm in the CHS library. You do not have to know how to play. We will teach you in 1 minute or less. It’s going to be a night of fun, food, and prizes.

Rooter Bus

We are planning on taking a rooter bus to the state semi-finals tomorrow. Come to the front office and pick up the permission form. The first 50 students to turn in your forms will be admitted free, no charge. Forms must be turned in by 10am tomorrow. Bus loads at 1:30pm and departs at 1:45pm. Don’t hesitate. Do it!
