Clubs Today

National Honor Society Candidates

There is an informational meeting in the Choir room today during the first part of lunch to go over the application process.  Please plan to attend. If you are interested in applying, but cannot make the meeting, see Tibor sometime today or tomorrow or email him.  

Seniors

If you have not filled out your graduation survey, you need to do it immediately. It is a graduation requirement and you will not be allowed to pick up graduation tickets, sign up for a walking partner, or cleared to graduate. To fill out the survey, log into your Naviance account. There is a link to the survey on your homepage. If you have any questions, see Sheree in the College and Career Center.

Peer Navigators

Would you like to get paid to help freshmen make the transition to high school? Apply to be a Peer Navigator. Current juniors and outstanding sophomores will be considered. If you are interested, please attend a meeting during lunch, in room F39 today. Details will be provided.

Seniors

Time to vote for your top three candidates for Senior Bests. Ballots are available in the front office until tomorrow.

Leadership

Are you interested in running for a class position? An informational meeting will be Tuesday, May 15th, at lunch in B17.

Attention Flag Football Players

Remember that paperwork/money is due tomorrow. If you are wanting to play in this years jr vs sr football game, see Ms. Wilgus in B17. Equipment will be ordered on May 15th.

Grad Party

Seniors, now is the time to purchase your graduation party tickets for $35 during lunch at the planters. The party is at the UofO Rec Center following graduation from 11pm-3am. Great prizes – a TV, X-Box system, I-Pad mini, Apple watch, along with games, food, knockerball, rock climbing and horse racing. Don’t miss out.

Les Miserables

Tickets are on sale for CHS West End Performing Arts’ production of Les Miserables. Showtimes are tonight, tomorrow, Saturday, and May 17, 18, and 19 at 7 pm. Tickets cost $12 for adults and $7 for students. You can purchase your tickets from any cast, crew, or orchestra pit member.

Sophomores and Juniors

Résumés for Work Study positions at schools in the Churchill region are being accepted in the School-to-Career office in the STEM building. Get ready for next fall, work, get paid, and get class credit! See Mary Beth in the School-to-Career office for more information.

LEAP Graduation Requirement

There are 59 seniors who need to complete their LEAP graduation requirement. Check your email for instructions on who to see and how to make an appointment to complete the LEAP interview. See Mary Beth in the School-to-Career office in the STEM building or your counselor if you have questions.

Oregon Tradeswomen’s Career Fair

All Churchill girls are invited to sign up for the Oregon Tradeswomen’s Career Fair on Friday, May 18. Sign up for this all-day field trip to Portland to learn about careers in the trades. Lunch is provided. Sign up sheets are outside the School-to-Career office and at Career Center counter.

Job Fair

Jobs, jobs, jobs! The Job Fair is coming to Churchill on Tuesday, June 5th. Get your resumes ready, mark your calendars, and prepare to meet the people hiring for the summer and for full-time jobs. Details to come at the end of May.

Community Service Opportunities

17th Annual Family Fishing Day with Head Start of Lane County is Saturday at Alton Baker Park. Special guests – Sluggo and Portland Superheros Coalition

High Hope Haven is a nonprofit looking for help updating their website to reach a new level of stability and reflect current business practice.  The website is www.havenoregon.org and is implemented under WordPress.  

Nearby Nature – Volunteer for Summer day camps for 3 to 11-year-olds with week-long sessions at Alton Baker or Mount Pisgah. Opportunities include leading hikes, outdoor science, crafts, canoeing, gardening, and more.

Come to the college and career center and have a look at the Community Service wall for more info on any of these opportunities.
