Boys Basketball:

State Basketball T-Shirts are on sale today.  They will be $5.00 and you can purchase them before school, during break, lunch and after school.  There is a limited amount so make sure you get one.  See Kajsa for more information.

Yearbook:

Attention Seniors!  The senior class photo is happening tomorrow between 2nd and 3rd period at the rock.  All seniors at the rock Wednesday.

Change for Change:

Need community service hours?  Want to help the homeless?  Come to Change for Change, Wednesdays at lunch in room H-5 to find out more.

College and Career Center:

The deadline to submit the Rotary Youth Leadership Academy application is April 1st.  Submit completed applications to the College and Career Center.  If you don’t have an application and want one, they are available in the College and Career Center.

Seniors, the Beyond High School Network is sponsoring a scholarship drawing.  6 lucky winners will receive $500.00.  The deadline to enter the drawing is Thursday.  See the College and Career Center for entry forms.

Football:

Attention all Lancer Football players!  There is a informational meeting today at lunch in Coach K’s room H-19.

OBOB Team is meeting in the library at lunch.  Come and practice and get ready for Saturday!

Senior Grad Committee:

Royal blue stadium seats will be on sale this Friday at the home basketball game.  Tell your parents and grandparents, these chairs have great back support and a cushion bottom.  They are $45.00 each and $20.00 goes directly to graduation party.  Great for football games, volleyball, baseball and wrestling matches.

College and Career Center:

Seniors, the Beyond High School Network is sponsoring a scholarship drawing.  Six lucky winners will receive $500.00.  The deadline to enter the drawing is March 13th.  See the College and Career Center for entry forms.

Rowing:

Spring rowing is back! South Eugene Crew kicks off an intense sprints racing season with 2 free trial weeks at Dexter Lake.  You are invited to check out this awesome sport and join our novice team.  We row 4 days a week and race throughout the Northwest.  To find out more information go to oarjrcrew.org or email membership@oarjrcrew.net.

West Eugene Teen Court:

West Eugene Teen Court will be holding new volunteer training today from 3:15 to 5:15pm.  Volunteer hours will count toward your community service requirement.  Snacks will be provided.  See the College and Career Center for details.

College and Career Center:

Sophomores, are you interested in developing your leadership skills?  If so, come to the College and Career Center for information and applications for a 6 day camp, June 16th through the 21st.

WISE Leaders will be at the planters during lunch today to register girls for the 2014 WISE Symposium!  Don’t miss it!

Drama:

Fifteen West End Thespians travelled to North Medford High School this weekend to participate in the southwest regional acting competition.  All of our students represented Churchill proudly!

Drama:

Our play Holmes for the Holidays was selected as one to the three best plays in the State this year.  Holmes, which closed last month, will be revived and taken to the Elsinore Theatre in Salem the first weekend in April.  We will give one performance in front of 1,000 Oregon High School Thespians at the 2014 Oregon State Thespian Conference.  In March we will prepare a two performance revival of Holmes here at school so you can either see it again or for the first time and then we will pack it on a truck!

Drama:

Of our fifteen competitors, in the Musical Theatre Solo Category – Seniors Arianna LaMora and Maddy Martin and sophomore Anthony Carter were honored as Regional Finalists for their outstanding performances.  Junior Carly Walker will be representing Churchill at the West End Creative and Performing Arts Academy at State with her outstanding performance of “Just You Wait” from My Fair Lady.

Reminder: The priority admission and scholarship deadline for Oregon State is February 1st. February 17th is the transcript/document deadline.

Seniors: If you would like help preparing for the SAT, you may be interested in SAT boot camp. There are two spaces left for the winter session which begins this Saturday. Come to the College and Career Center for additional information.

Wise Symposium:

Churchill girl’s online registration is open for our second annual WISE Symposium! Go to the CHS homepage and click on the WISE Symposium link under the CHS Headlines. WISE Symposium 2014 will be Friday, February 7th from 1:00 to 5:00pm.

Freshman Events for the first week of School

TUESDAY, September 4, 6:30 p.m. Auditorium Freshman Student/Parent WELCOME!

Freshmen will receive their schedules and information on the transition to high school. Staff members will be available to answer questions. Come enjoy some treats and meet staff and classmates!

WEDNESDAY, September 5, 8:40 a.m. to 10:10  Auditorium  Freshman Registration and school pictures, 
Freshmen Drop-in Counseling until 11:00 AM in the counseling center to discuss schedule changes.

THURSDAY, September 6–9th Grade Orientation and first day of school–freshman will attend all classes for half-period:   8:40 to 12:25

Regular Red Day

Attention Seniors:
Walking partner signups start today! Grab you walking partner and head to the Career Center and sign up with Julie. Remember all fees, fines, projects and Leap must be completed to sign up. Also, both partners need to be cleared and both partners must sign-up together.

Bookworm Club:
What is a Bookworm? I like reading about faraway places, adventures and troubles, crazy predicaments, supernatural and everyday people. I like hanging out with great friends, planning good times, eating bagels with strawberry cream cheese. Our last meeting tomorrow at lunch in the library. New OBOB books have arrived.

Leadership:
The Aloha dance is tomorrow night from 8:30 to 10:30pm. This is the last dance of the year. Tickets are on sale now, they are $4.00 with ASB and $6.00 without. Stop by the student store at lunch and don’t miss out on the last dance.

Remember to order your final transcripts for college in the Registrar’s office.
