CURRENT HISTORY
SMALL LEARNING COMMUNITY
Current History Small Learning Community will utilize the integration
of social studies, language arts and technology to study U. S. and
world history through current events.
Understanding the world requires a knowledge of history. By tying
current events to their historical roots and examining similarities
between recent and distant history, students better understand their
role as citizens.
To enrich this understanding, students in the Current History SLC
will read such works as All Quiet on the Western Front, Night, Things
Fall Apart, Animal Farm, Alas Babylon, A Separate Peace, To Kill
a Mockingbird, Of Mice and Men, Romeo and Juliet and Thousand Pieces
of Gold.
As part of their coursework, students will learn about radio broadcasting
and video production. (Freshman and Sophomore students are not guaranteed
or required to have radio broadcasting experience.) Listed below
