VISUAL ART AND GRAPHIC DESIGN
The Art department offers courses for students who are interested
in the fields of the fine and applied arts, humanities, and graphic
design. Taking one art class in this department fulfills the school
graduation requirement for .5 credits in visual art. Introductory
level courses as well as advanced courses are offered.
The department offers a CAM in Arts and Communications in two areas;
visual arts (ceramics, drawing, photography) and graphic design.
Churchill's art department also offers a College Now program in
graphic design so that students may receive LCC college credit for
graphic design classes taken at Churchill (specifically Computer
Graphics I, II, & III). Ninth graders are strongly encouraged
to take an art elective.
A $15 lab fee is requested of students for studio classes. The
fee is necessary to provide materials from which the students will
own the final product. For those facing financial difficulty, a
waiver form is available from the instructor.
The arts bring culture and enjoyment to people's lives. Together,
the arts and graphic design areas are a pathway to many creative
and design-related careers.
