Student Volunteers Needed

Have some fun and earn some community service hours this Thursday and Friday, August 16 & 17, from 10 a.m. to Noon.  Build robots, clocks, weather stations, and assemble 3-D puzzles.  Meet in the front office at 10 a.m. and ask for Mary Beth.  Or call her at 541-790-5152.

Dear Churchill Lancer Support Agent:

Thank you in advance for your dedication and commitment in supporting new students to our school.  Your role as a Lancer Support Agent (formally called freshman advisoris to mentor a group of students throughout the year. This leadership provides the opportunity to help students adjust to Churchill and offers an immediate social connection to the school. You are providing an invaluable service to the Churchill community and we greatly appreciate your help.

There are three areas of paperwork to review and forms to return at our next meeting on Wednesday, August 22 in the café from 10:00-12:00.

Awakening:
Come hang out with us and have a grand time of food and friends and new experiences! Tomorrow at lunch in room C-9.

There will be no student info notes run once finals begin. Be sure to work out a communication plan with parents or guardians for this time.

NHS Juniors:
For all NHS Juniors helping with Graduation, there is a 20 minute run-thru after school today, 3:15pm, in the auditorium.

Seniors:
Would you like to have your folder from the Career Center? Come by to pick it up this week. Honor Diploma Candidates: Come pick up your cords for graduation.

Career Center:
Juniors: It’s time to plan for your all important Senior year. Stop by the Career Center today, 2:30 to 4:00pm to pick up paperwork that will help you get organized this summer.

Anyone interested in Cross Country for next year there will be an informational meeting at 3:45pm tomorrow in the cafeteria.

Seniors:
Want to win an Itouch, maybe some cash, or a remote control helicopter ? Senior grad party tickets are going fast. Get them in the IHS office. They will be available at the door the night of the party, but if you want to make sure you get the right size t-shirt get them now.

Library:
All senior textbooks and library books are due today and tomorrow. Remember your diploma’s will not be released until all your books are returned.

Career Center:
Seniors, going to LCC? Going into the Dental Hygiene Program? We have a scholarship for you! Stop by the Career Center before it’s too late.

UO Classes for High School Students:
High school students in Lane County may apply to enroll in special college courses at the U of O during the summer and fall terms. Because professors volunteer to teach courses, the cost per course is only $60.00. The application deadline for summer and fall terms is today. Chaco:
Reminder: No more Chaco meetings for the rest of the year. Good luck with finals.

Cheerleading:
Cheer Clinic today from 3:45pm to 6:30pm. Come join the cheer team with learning all the basic’s necessary for tryouts! Hope to see you there.

Career Center:
The Churchill Garden is offering an apprenticeship opportunity in July and August of this summer. Applications for this program are due today. If you are interested in a career in horticulture this would be a great LEAP project. Stop by the Career Center and pick up an application.

Yearbook:
Yearbook distribution is this Monday at lunch. If you would like your book early, there will be a signing party in the library today 3rd and 4th periods. For $3.00 you can skip the lines and get a free slice of pizza.

Seniors:
Do you want to win an iTouch? Go to the Senior Grad Party for a chance to win. Buy your tickets now in the IHS office. There will also be free food and games. The party will be at Courtsports right after graduation. It will be a great time to celebrate all you’ve accomplished.
