Community Service opportunity

The Emerald Valley BMX is looking for volunteers this weekend — Saturday and Sunday — for the 2016 Northwest Regional Championships. The race track is located behind Autzen Stadium. If your interested, please see the flyer outside the School-to-Career office in the STEM building or in the College and Career Center.

Wednesday, September 21st is Churchill Football fundraiser day at Papa’s Pizza. Churchill football will earn 50% of all food and drink sales on Wednesday, September 21st. Please go have a meal there on the 21st and help the football program raise some money in the process!

Volunteer Opportunity

Attention Sophomores, Juniors, and seniors! Do you need to complete your community service hours? Do you have a free period? Then volunteer at Kennedy middle school or McCornack elementary school. It’s a fun and easy way to get your community service hours in. Please pick up an application outside the School-to-Career office in the STEM building or in the College and Career Center. Applications are to be turned in to Mary Beth in the School-to-Career office.

Math Club

Here’s the story: We learn about some areas of math that aren’t in your regular classes. We share different ways to look at math. We do math puzzles. We enter math competitions, individually and in groups. We discuss topics brought in by you, the members. If some or all of this sounds interesting to you, please join us in F37 (Mr. Grossberg’s room) on Mondays from 3:45 to 5:00, starting Sep 19th (that’s next week). And sometimes…there are snacks. Hope to see you there!

Do you like to have fun? Do you have school spirit? Then show your spirit in becoming our school mascot. If you are interested, pick up an application in B17. Applications are due Tuesday, September 20th.

Skateboarding, longboarding, bicycling, and skating are not permitted on Churchill campus. This includes the courtyard, parking lots, sidewalks, and athletic field areas. When you are on campus you must carry your board, or walk your bicycle. Churchill rules about boards, bicycles and skates are in the 2016-17 Student Handbook, posted on our website at

If you signed up for a locker that requires a padlock, you must put a lock on it by the end of school today. Any items in an unlocked locker will be cleared out and the locker will be tied closed and may be assigned to another student.

Student IDs

If you need a student ID card, see Kevin in the campus supervisors’ office anytime. You will not be excused from class to get an ID card. The first ID card is free. Replacement ID cards are $5.00. To get the ASB sticker on your ID card you must bring your receipt or a note from Ken in the finance office.
