Kudos

A big congratulations to our own Kevin Summerfield for being awarded the Eugene Human Rights Commission’s Community Leader Award! In addition to his work throughout the year both at Churchill High School and in the community, Kevin also organized our terrific Martin Luther King, Jr. assembly last week that honored many groups and causes.

Further congratulations go to English teacher and rights advocate Mrs. Jennifer Scurlock for leading two all-district gatherings of students and community leaders in a discussion of issues that impact our students of color. Many students expressed that the gatherings were important, powerful, and meaningful!  Way to go, Mrs. Scurlock!
