Budget Timeline
- Karla put copies of the budget timeline as well
as the staffing/curriculum handbook timeline in your boxes.
I apologize for getting this information out to you so late...I
was not
clear on the timeline you used in the past, and time passed
me
by a
bit. (I know I can only use that "new guy" excuse
for so long).
Anyway, our first combined meeting with Site Council and Curriculum
Council is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 2 at 3:15 in F -55.
See me if
you have questions or concerns
Staff Meetings
- reminder
that we do have a special staff inservice meeting (regular
late start schedule) on Wednesday, Feb. 2. We will
start the meeting promptly at 8:00 a.m. The main focus of the
meeting
will be around reviewing a draft of the OSSI grant application
/ rubric
and giving you input into that instrument before we submit
the grant.
We also have a regular staff meeting/late start scheduled for
Feb. 9.
Computer Labs
- As you know, we have had our share of problems
with
student behavior in the labs. The Tech Department and admin.
team have
worked on a set of guidelines for student use of the labs. These
proposals will go to Operations tomorrow. I think we will come
up with
a policy that provides student access for academic purposes while
protecting our equipment and avoiding inappropriate use. You'll
see
more on this soon...thanks for your patience with the process.
9th Grade Registration
- this process starts next week with an
evening meeting for all 8th grade parents on February 8 and a
regional
meeting for I.H.S.-bound parents on February 10. On 2/16 and
2/17, we
have separate meetings with Jefferson and Kennedy parents; each
SLC and
department should plan to have a representative at the meetings
on the
16th and 17th, as we will have a "curriculum fair" set
up in the
cafeteria with tables for representative to visit with parents.
Hats off to Read Right!
- nice article in the R-G today. Check
it out when you get a chance.
- Staff notes -- congratulations to Tom and Tyan on the
birth of
their daughter, Ella!
- On a sad note, Chris Mudd suffered a loss
in his family, and he is
in St. Louis until Wednesday.
Hope your second semester gets off to a great start!
