Class Integrity/Hallways

  • We are on a campaign to make the hallways more orderly during class time (more coming on that soon!). Please help us maintain an academic learning environment by starting class on time and releasing students only at the end of the period. I have noticed a few classes being released early. This creates noise and commotion in the hallways and problems for students and teachers in other classes. Thank you for your cooperation with this.

Futures Committee

  • The next Futures Committee meeting is Monday, February 28th, at 3:15 in room J9.

FYI

  • There will NOT be a Pep Assembly on March 2nd.

Latino Parent Night

  • We are hosting a Latino parent night for those Latino parents interested in getting to know each other and the school better. This will be held in the Library from 7-8:30pm the evening of March 2nd. Please encourage those you feel would benefit from such an event to attend. If you have questions, contact Doug Kelly.

CIM Writing Re-Tests

  • Certain 11th and 12th grade students will be asked to re-take the CIM writing assessment on March 7th, Period 2 and March 8th, Period 6. The test will be administered in the cafeteria. Mr. Kelly, "CIM Master", will distribute notices to students and lists to teachers.

Late Starts - March

  • We will have our March staff meeting during our late start Wednesday, March 9th, beginning at 7:45am. Please email me or Don Cataldo if you have suggested topics for the agenda. Please include length of time need for your topic. The completed agenda will be emailed out to all staff prior to the meeting.
  • Our late start on March 16th will be for Curriculum areas to meet.

April Newsletter

  • Don't forget! If you have articles you want to get in the April newsletter, please email them to Karla by Wednesday, March 9th. Also, if you are having student presentations or anything special going on in your classrooms, please let Karla know so she can come take photos.

FYI --

  • The deadline for the last newsletter issue of the year, the May/June G'Lancer, is April 13th.

Spring Concerts

  • Our outstanding musicians here at Churchill are performing in spring concerts in March. The choir is performing on Tuesday, March 15th at 7:30pm, and the band on Thursday, March 17th at 7:00pm. Both concerts are in the auditorium. If you are available, come hear and support our outstanding musicians.

Human Rights Day

  • We will be hosting our Human Rights Day on Thursday, March 17th (St. Patrick's Day). There will be a special schedule for this day and will be listed on the weekly calendar (for that week). It will be a 1/2 day AM Human Rights classes and 1/2 day PM regular classes schedule. If you have questions, check with Cindy Sainz.

'04-05 Department Budgets

  • Department Curriculum representatives should submit purchase order requests for this year's remaining budget balances by Friday, March 18th. This is the Friday prior to Spring Break. Please see Karla if you have questions.

8th Grade Presentation Nights

  • Many thanks to all of you who were able to attend and help out with our 8th grade parent nights. We received very positive feedback from parents who attended.
