Please include length of time need for your topic. The completed

March 28th Inservice Day
-
As I mentioned at the staff meeting, we will
be hosting a visit from the OSSI grant folks on the evening
of March 28th and all day on March 29th. I will send you an
agenda via email for the Monday inservice. We will review the
plan for the 29th at the inservice as well. Our Inservice will
start with food in the library @ 7:45am. We should be
done by 11:30am.
-
In the afternoon, staff members from McCornack
will be in the library to present information about children
from poverty backgrounds. This optional presentation is part
of our regional Wallace Grant plan to address achievement gap
issues. This session will run from 1:00-3:00pm. Staff members
from the various schools in the Churchill region will also be
attending.
Beauty of Blackness Assembly/Presentation
-
On Thursday, April 7th, there will be a sign-up-to-attend
assembly during 8th period for our BSU to hold their Beauty
of Blackness presentation. Teachers, if you would like to bring
your class, please sign up with Corey Chambers.
-
BSU will also present Beauty of Blackness to
the CHS community the evening of Friday, April 8th, in the Auditorium.
May/June Newsletter
-
Don't forget! If you have articles you want
to get in the LAST 04-05 school year newsletter, the May/June
issue, please email them to Karla by Wednesday, April 13th.
Also, if you are having student presentations or anything special
going on in your classrooms, please let Karla know so she can
come take photos.
Congratulations Dance Team
-
A great big congratulations goes out to our
CHS Dance Team! The first weekend of Spring Break they competed
in the State Dance and Drill Championships in Portland and were
awarded 3rd place! Congratulations also go out to Tiffany Metzler
who placed 2nd, out of over 250 competitors, for the individual
Drill Down portion of the competition.
Mr. Lancer Pageant
-
Our 12th annual Mr. Lancer Pageant takes place
on Wednesday, April 13th at 7:00pm in the Auditorium. It will
be a night of fun and laughter. The contestants have been busy
raising money from throughout the community and sending letters
to friends and family asking for their support. All the proceeds
from their efforts, as well as the night of the pageant, go
directly to the Kids Helping Kids. When all is complete, and
the points have been added, a new Mr. Lancer 2005 will be crowned.
For tickets or more information, contact Cindy Wilgus.
Mr. Lancer Benefit Dinner
-
Are you looking for a fun evening? Want to help
raise money for the Mr. Lancer pageant and Children's Miracle
Network? Well, then mark your calendars for Monday, April 4th.
The Mr. Lancer candidates will be serving dinner at 6th Street
Grill restaurant from 5:30-9:30pm. This should be a night of
laughter and entertainment. Scrip will be available to buy at
the door. Your scrip is then used as tips, entertainment or
whatever else you can think of! All scrip proceeds go to the
candidates. So... make it an evening to remember and join us
on April 4th. RESERVATIONS ARE STRONGLY RECOMMENDED. Call 6th
Street Grill to make your reservations.
Latino Parent Night
-
We are hosting another Latino parent night for
those Latino parents interested in getting to know each other
and the school better. This will be held in the Library from
7-8:30pm the evening of April 5th. Please encourage those you
feel would benefit from such an event to attend. If you have
questions, contact Doug Kelly.
Take Care of Yourselves!
-
As you experienced folks know, Spring tends
to be a very busy time around a high school and the clock seems
to speed up. Take it one day at a time, take care of yourselves,
and maintain a sense of humor and delight in the work we do!
Have a great week!
