Early Release/Progress Reports
- Today, Friday May 6th, is an early release for teachers to complete
progress reports Teachers need to send progress reports home to
any student who is getting below a C grade, is in danger of getting
below a C grade at this point in time, or is working quite a bit
below potential. It is probably best to err on getting the message
home. Progress reports are due to MaryAnn by 8:00am, Tuesday,
May 10th.
District Reading Assessment
- Social Studies has graciously agreed to provide time for the
4J 9th Grade Reading Assessment in their classrooms on May 9th
and 10th. More coming to individuals involved on that soon. Thanks
folks!
Rachel Carson Plant Sale
- Students in the Rachel Carson Program have worked hard this
year to prepare for their annual spring plant sale. Organically
raised vegetable, herb and flower starts, hanging flower baskets,
native trees and shrubs will be available. The sale will be held
at the Churchill greenhouse tomorrow Saturday, May 7th from 10am-4pm,
and today from 3-5pm. Come see the Churchill Greenhouse and meet
students in the Rachel Carson program as you take care of all
your spring planting needs!
Hawaiian Delegation Visit
- Next Thursday, May 12th, we will be hosting a delegation from
several high schools in Hawaii. There are about 20 people representing
five high schools: Kaimuki, Roosevelt and Kalani (Oahu), and Maui
and King Kekaulike High Schools in Maui. These schools are part
of a SLC study tour and they are looking at four other schools
in Oregon besides Churchill. Tom Horn is our designated host and
point person, so you will be hearing from Tom as well as from
me at the staff meeting. Tom will be sending out a tentative agenda
for the day. Where you see your name as a possible classroom host
for a few minutes or as a person sharing a little about your program,
remember that this is tentative. Tom will be talking to you about
details. If you are unable to participate, just let us know. Thanks
& much Aloha!
