A big thank you to all staff members for making registration and our
first day of school run smoothly. Staff and students have been very
upbeat and your positive attitudes and assistance are greatly

suggestions for making it more efficient next year, please let me know.
Thanks for the great start!

Staff Development Funds
Each year, Curriculum Council allocates funds for staff
development
requests from teachers. Karla has the forms to be used for making staff
development requests. These forms should be filled out and returned to
your Curriculum Council Representative. Curriculum Council will make a
decision on these requests at its September 22nd meeting. If you have
any questions about how to access these funds, please let me know or
talk with your Curriculum Council Representative.
Staff Shirts
If you did not get a staff shirt please let Daire or Darcey know.
We
want all staff (including student teachers) to have a shirt so, please
let them know if you need one and what size you need.
Teacher Office Hours
Remember that we have a staff agreement that teachers
are available to
students for individual help, either in their office or in their
classroom, beginning at 7:45 am each morning.

Today, Monday, September 13th, Operations Group will
hold their first
meeting of the year in my office at 1:50pm. They will continue to meet

Freshmen Elections
The Freshmen election petitions process will begin September
20th. The
actual election will be held during the last :20 minutes of 6th period
on Tuesday, September 28th.
Staff ID Cards/Passes
If you are in need of accessing the building after hours
(on school
days before 6:30am, or after 11pm, or on weekends), and you don't
already have a staff ID card, please let Karla know. They take
approximately 5 working days to obtain.
Your staff ID card will also get you into extracurricular activities
(games, plays, etc.).
Don't forget to not punch holes in the cards, bend them, or otherwise
make them into any other shape than what they were when they were
issued to you. They are electronic and any of these things will render
them unworkable. Replacement cards are $20.
No Bystander Policy
Just a reminder about our no bystander policy here at CHS.
If you hear
any name calling, harrassing or discriminatory remarks, please step in
and then let Cindy, Doug, Sloan or Larry know about the incident.
Supplies
If you are in need of supplies, please email Darcey (huelsman). For
supplies we have on hand, the supplies will be in your mailbox (or near
the mailboxes with your name on it) soon. If you need to order
something out of the Boise catalog, please email the page number,
product number, description, quantity and price and we will order your
item(s). See your curriculum area rep for a catalog and remember that
all supply orders for your department must be approved by your
curriculum rep.
Staff Dues
Staff dues are $10 per year. This fund is used for birthday cards
and
to send flowers to staff members who have a death in the family, etc.
Please pay your staff dues to Janette in the Finance office.
Leave Time
Please remember to let the front office know when you are going
to be
out of the building. For planned leave, there are leave forms available
to fill out and have approved prior to the leave. Please include what
type of leave you are requesting.
Student Fees
If there are student fees required for a class, and the student
cannot
afford them, we have funds to pay for that student's fees. The student
needs to be eligible for free/reduced lunch to receive this assistance.
If you have any student who needs this kind of help, please check with
Janette.
Open House
Our Open House will take place on Tuesday, October 12th, from 6:30pm
to
9:00pm. I believe this will be a great opportunity to showcase the
excellent programs we have at Churchill High School. We will follow
the same schedule and set up as last year. I encourage people to
distribute copies of course descriptions and to have student work on
display in the classroom. Some of these little things give parents
clear messages about the kind of program that we have. If there's
anything that needs to be done in your classroom to help it to look
better or other maintenance/custodial needs, please send Keith, or
Buddy an email so that we can get it done prior to open house.
We will also have a staff debrief immediately following the Open House.
More details to come!
There will also be a special late, late start the following Wednesday,
October 13th, for staff to recoop, with a staff meeting at 10:00 that
morning.
HAVE A GREAT WEEK!
