Operations Minutes: January 10, 2005

Winter formal will be on Saturday, 2/12. 8:30-11:30pm "Midnight Masquerade". They are still in need of chaperones. Please contact Cindy Wilgus if you are interested.
Mr Lancer Dance will be on Friday 3/11, 9-11pm.
Mr Lancer program will be Wednesday, 4/13 at 7pm in the auditorium. There is a baseball game that afternoon, but it shouldn't conflict.
Leadership is working on a coordinated fundraising effort with the other four high schools to go to the Red Cross for the Tsunami victims.

A White Day "survey" will be conducted at the staff meeting this Wednesday to determine interest in/desire to change the White Day.
LSU dance on 1/14.was moved to 1/21. Dance lessons are from 8-9 and the dance is 9-11. The dance will be held in the halls. Students from the SHS LSU can be in invited on a one-on-one basis.
Human Rights Day: Web page has been set up. Thinking of beginning with keynote speaker then breaking into several "events", then breaking up further into groups with individual teachers. Also, some teachers may want to continue the HR topic into their classes for the rest of the day. A mural design contest prior to HR day, where related murals could be painted and ready for the day is a thought - or a T-shirt design competition for T-shirts for the day. Still in process of ideas, agenda and setting up programs. Human Rights Day is still set for March 17th (St. Patrick's Day).

Staff meeting agenda was discussed.
Students of the Month nominations were presented and award winners selected. Dennis will send an email out of the selections to make sure that there are no staff who have problems with any of them receiving the award. It was discussed that in the future, Cindy Wilgus will email staff with the nominations for this feedback prior to presenting to Operations for selection. This is a process of "fine-tuning". Students who are nominated will receive a "Student of the Month Nomination" certificate. Students who are selected from that pool will receive that certificate, as well as a "Student of the Month" certificate. If you have questions about this process, see Dennis.
