Return to Minutes Index
Present: Dennis, Karla, Cindy, Julie, Audrey, Theresa, Hareem,
Lynne
1.Calendar
- February and March calendars were reviewed and approved with
additions Julie and Karla went over prior to the meeting.
2.Minutes from last week were reviewed
3.Leadership
- Mr Lancer requested a basketball game on Thursday, February
24th. There is basketball practice that evening. They will check
to find
another date.
- French club would like to do a Bingo or card game night in
the cafeteria as a fundraiser. French club needs to check and
see if
they need a permit to do so. Cash prizes vs prize giveaways?
- Student Lounge
Leadership wants to put a hand mural on the walls, possibly
next week after school. It was decided that they could use
a ladder
(supervised) and put it above the lockers. This would avoid
graffiti and marking up.
4.Old Business
- Calendars were discussed.
- Parking
Todd is issuing more tickets. Senior girls are complaining
there are Sophomores parking illegally on campus. Yellow
zone in front
of building needs special attention.
5.New Business
- Science Wing
Dennis met with the architects and project manager last week. The
building plans were reviewed. The project is anticipated starting
in April/May of this year and will be done by next year Winter
Break. We will need to think about re-routing fire routes for
the Spring for those who use the Student Lounge doors for a
fire exit, as those doors will not be able to be used.
- Restrooms
All of our restrooms will be remodeled this summer. Facilities
presented options and they were reviewed. H was chosen. See
Dennis if you would like to see the choices.
- Tech/Computer Labs Issues
New rules were discussed and agreed upon.
Computer games (ie Halo) are not allowed in the labs, and the
request for a Computer Gaming Club was denied due to the inability
to “babysit” the
rating of the games due to their violent/abusive nature, whether
or not we should be using school property/facilities to condone
these programs, and there is no staff member willing to take on
the challenge.
6.Open
- Pop Culture is requesting to take a field trip to see “Drawer
Boy” at the Hult Center on February 9th. We approve.

class/gender were chosen. Our choices are following. Please
