Operations Minutes: April 18, 2005

Present: Cindy, Theresa, Karla, Don, Hareem, Lynne, 2 student visitors

1.Minutes from last meeting were reviewed

The Geography Club kids would like to have a “Drag Show” (party) in the Auditorium this Friday night. They have recruited several chaperones and Cindy will check on these to make sure there are enough. This would not be open to the public, but would be open to other schools. They will be checking with the GSA coordinator to make sure the ID-ing, etc. and administration will be there for supervision. This will be discussed with Dennis. There are a lot of specifics to be ironed out, before it can be approved.

Elections
The ASB elections have started. Petitions are out. Campaigning starts Monday. The speeches and assembly are Tuesday. Election Day is either Thursday or Friday of next at lunch.

Field Trip Request
Laura Rice is taking her IMS kids to Oregon Gardens. This is a day-long trip. This was discussed and approved.
Assembly Protocol
It was discussed that teachers/staff should accompany their classes to assemblies. It would be nice for staff to support the assemblies and it would probably get more students to them. This will be discussed further. We would like to improve staff AND student attendance at all assemblies.
