Operations Minutes: September 13, 2004
Return to Minutes Index
Open Agenda:
SAT dates conflict
- There is a conflict with the 04-05 SAT dates
that were requested on
September 8th. The cafeteria was previously booked for the
October and
December dates.
- Karla will check with the groups who have it
reserved to see if there
is a compromise in areas to be used.
- Just a reminder that building
usage is on a first-come, first -served
basis. If you are in charge of school-related activities
(as these are
obviously more important than rentals) please assure
getting the dates
you need by reserving them as soon as possible.
Activity Vans Usage
- The activity vans can be used by any school
group with a certified
driver and can be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.
- This "policy" surrounding
use of our two activity vans was
questioned, as was the reason why Rachel Carson seems to have
priority
over the vans and there is no time left for others to use them.
This
will be discussed further at the next meeting. Funding of the
vans was
also discussed.
Staff Concerns:
Staff T-Shirts
- Need to get smaller sizes next year, more flattering
for the women
- Sizes were noted this year so that next year
we will have a better
idea of what to order
- These are ordered during the summer, so
will ask staff to pick a size
before they leave for summer
- Will again have a meeting about
shirts next year before summer break
so that staff can help decide style/design
Dogs in the Building
- There is a concern that some staff are
not following the current dog
policy (allergies & food concerns, etc.), and some staff
would like to
see the rule tightened to include that they must stay within
the staff
member's classroom/area
- CHS current dog policy is that dogs
are only allowed in the building
on non-student days
- This may be discussed again at a later date...
(probably)
Teachers Use of Office Copier
- Purchase another cheap copier
for teachers that stays in the office or
staff room?
- Allow teachers to copy during certain hours (before/after
school)?
- The policy has been that the copy machine in the
front office is for
front office, counseling and career center business, and
for teachers
copying small quantities.
- It was suggested that if there is
a teacher making copies and a front
office/counseling/career center staff member needs the
machine, the job
could be interrupted. This and other ideas will be
discussed at the
next meeting.
Leadership:
Pep Assembly, Friday 9/17
- Keith presented the agenda and it
was reviewed and approved. It was
requested that we look into possibly moving pep assemblies to
between
the 3rd and 4th periods of the day to get the actual assembly
closer to
the activities they are trying to get the students "pumped
up" for.
They will wait to see how the assembly on Friday goes. This will
be
discussed at the next meeting.
