Minutes;
[which ones?] approved 12/13/05
Old Business;
Assembly: since many students do not have an 8th period, many
would not stay for an assembly after 8th (as planned).
Dennis proposed an assembly after 6th followed by an assembly and
a short break. All agreed that this would be better.
Leadership;
- Santa Fundraiser - Cafeteria on Friday, 4 to 7 on Friday,
the 16th. Flyers have been distributed.
- Sheldon Exchange - Elected student leaders will "swap"
schools for a day with Sheldon. Churchill Exec. Council will
go to Sheldon on Jan. 13; Sheldon's officers will come
here on January 19th.
- Powder Puff - Leadership is looking at possibly playing against
North on March 10; we thought the following week would be good.
Or, we could go the week after Prom. To be announced.
- Mr. Lancer - Doug asked where the Mr. Lancer process
is now. Kelsey said that the committee has interviewed freshmen
girls. Kelly asked when the application process for the boys
starts after winter break.
New Business;
Lynne suggested that we have a progressive dinner, as in the past.
Or might it be possible to have it at one house, or re-schedule at
a later time. Karla suggested that a later time might actually
discourage attendance. Some folks did not like an alcohol attendance.
Kelly suggested that we are a bit departmentalized and that may discourage
attendance at whole school events. It is hard to reach consensus.
Doug suggested a quick survey. Karla talked about the social committee
that met in the past, but that usually fell to the same people.
Process Advocate;
- Boy's Basketball Practice last week. We acknowledge
that this was a mis-communication on several fronts. It will be
handled differently in the future.
- Xerox several teachers have found students making many copies at
both of the staff machines. They had to wait to make their copies and
it is a violation of our school processes. Karla will change the copy
codes so that this does not happen. Everyone should try to make sure
that students do not have unauthorized access to the machines.
- Teachers are wondering what the process is when students are sent to
office and all administrators are busy. Students should report to the
front office where the office staff will put them in a spot until the
administrator can take care of them.
