Welcome to the May 15 edition of Graduation at a G’Lance! We are officially less than one month away from the big day. The Class of 2026 is truly special, and our goal is to make sure every single one of you is ready to cross that stage with everything you need.
Status Update: Gear & Requirements
We have reached a major milestone this week! If you missed the Cap & Gown distribution during the festival, don't worry—all remaining gear is now available in the front office for pickup during school hours.
Looking Ahead: Tickets & Logistics
Ticket distribution continues next week during student lunch. Students should check the Graduation Checklist below to ensure they are cleared to pick up tickets.
This is also a great time for families to review the Hult Center accessibility details and for seniors to start their Google Takeout data backups. We’ve also included info on how to opt in for commencement portraits so you can see those milestone moments as soon as they are ready.
We are so proud of the resilience and spirit these seniors have shown. Let’s make these final weeks ones to remember!
With PRIDE,
Churchill Graduation Committee

We want to ensure that every family member can enjoy this milestone comfortably. The Hult Center offers a variety of resources to support guests with mobility or sensory needs.
How to Request Support: To reserve accessible seating or specific resources, please fill out the Hult Center Accommodation Request Form. This allows the venue to prepare for your party's specific needs in advance.
Available Resources include:
-
Mobility & Seating: Reserved seating for mobility needs, wheelchairs, and size-inclusive seating.
-
Sensory Support: A serenity room to take a break from the crowd, and sensory bags equipped with noise-canceling headphones and fidget toys.
-
Hearing Assistance: Assistive listening devices compatible with T-coil or headphones.
The Hult Center lobby opens one hour before the ceremony (6:00 pm). Please plan to meet your entire party outside the doors so you can enter together, as every guest must have a ticket in hand to enter.
Parking Tips:
-
Hult Garage: Located west of the center on Olive St. (access via Olive St. or 6th Ave.). It fills up very quickly! Event Rate: Expect to pay a $10 event parking fee.
-
The Parcade: If the Hult garage is full, additional parking is available across 7th Ave. at the Parcade.
-
Skybridge Access: For those with mobility needs, the 3rd level of the Hult parking garage features a skybridge that leads directly to the concourse entrance.
Prohibited Items: To ensure everyone has a clear view and a safe experience, please leave balloons, air horns, outside food, and large signs (bigger than 11"x17") at home or in your vehicle.
|
We are pleased to provide professional interpretation services to ensure our ceremony is accessible to all members of our community.
-
ASL Interpretation: A designated seating section will be available with a clear view of our ASL interpreters. To reserve a seat in this section for your guests, please email Jill Reents at reents_ji@4j.lane.edu.
-
Spanish Interpretation: Families wishing to hear the ceremony in Spanish can pick up a translation headset at the designated table in the lobby. Please check in with the Spanish interpreters upon arrival to secure your equipment.
|
Students can sign up for their walking partners in the front office at any time through June 3.
How it works: Students write both names on a single slip of paper and place it in the designated envelope in Jill's office. Only one slip is needed per pair! If walking partners have already agreed to walk together, only one of them needs to submit the paper.
|
Phase 1 of ticket distribution is ongoing in Jill’s office (Front Office). Students may pick up tickets exclusively during student lunch, where cleared seniors will receive their first 6 tickets. Please ensure your student knows their total needed amount (up to 14) so they can submit that request at the window and be added to the list for Phase 2!
Early Grads & Alternative Programs: If you are an early grad or in the ECCO, GED, or EOA programs and cannot make it to campus during lunch, please email Jill Reents at reents_ji@4j.lane.edu to submit your request and coordinate a pickup time.
Ticket Phase 1: Initial Pickup & Requests (May 11 – May 22) During this window, cleared students can pick up their first 6 tickets in Jill’s office (located in the Front Office). While there, they should also submit their request for any additional tickets they need, up to a total of 14.
Ticket Phase 2: Extra Ticket Pickup (May 26 – June 5) Students can return to Jill’s office to pick up the extra tickets they requested in Phase 1. Students who have not picked up their first round of tickets can also request up to 14 tickets during this time, while supplies last.

Seniors: When you finish your graduation requirements, your 4J accounts will be closed. This means you will lose access to StudentVUE, Canvas, your school Gmail, Google Drive, and other 4J accounts. Now is a great time to start saving your school data so you don't lose access to your hard work and memories.
Google Files, Emails, and Contacts
Using Google Takeout, you can export a copy of your content from your school account to a personal Google account or download it to your own computer.
Pro-Tips for a Smooth Transfer:
-
Be Selective: You don’t have to take everything. You can choose to only export specific services like "Drive" and "Gmail" to save time and storage space.
-
Start Early: Depending on how many files you have, the export process can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few days. Don't wait until the week of graduation!
-
Storage Space: Make sure your personal Google account has enough free storage space to hold the files you are transferring.
Xello and other 3rd-Party accounts: If you use your school email for your Xello account login, please change it to a personal email address so you can still access your plans after graduation. Do the same for any other accounts (like college applications or testing sites) that use your school email to log in.

The Grad Party is a long-standing tradition providing seniors with a safe, sober, and fun graduation celebration. It is only possible because of the dedicated parent volunteers who put it together.
Why Would My Student Want to Attend?
One final celebration with their classmates! There will be a DJ rocking the latest hits, sprinkled with Karaoke, various activities such as the fan favorite Casino Night (various casino games and horse races), CASH WALK, Gymnasium Activities (basketball, dodgeball, pickleball), Rock Climbing, Hair Tinsel/Glitter Tattoos, Jousting Arena, Swimming Pool, and much more! Food and beverages are provided, such as DUTCH BROS, Papas Pizza, Nothing Bunt Cakes, etc... There will be CASH PRIZES throughout the night (last year over $6,000), plus 40+ Raffle Baskets and GRAND PRIZES to win! Past prizes include: TV's, Tablets, Smart Watches, e-Bikes, Scooters, Paddle Boards and amazing theme-inspired baskets like: Movie Night, Girls/Boys Dorm Essentials, Care Kits, Camping, etc... so the better question would be, Why Wouldn't My Student Attend?
How Do I Get Involved?
Volunteers are NEEDED! As mentioned, this event is put on solely by volunteers and paid for through fundraising and donations. We need as many people as we can get to help! It's not hard, or overly time consuming. Let's work together to have the most epic party and help our students celebrate their success!
Additionally, we are a 501c3 Non-Profit entity, operating through Lancer Legacy. Therefore, donations are tax-deductible. We accept cash, checks, and have a business Venmo for donations or fundraiser payments.

Senior year can be expensive: caps and gowns, graduation announcements, Prom, the grad party, and so much more. Don't let finances keep you from participating in all of your senior year activities. Financial assistance is available. Ask at the front office, your counselor, or any teacher or staff member. We can help.
