From the Principal's Desk

Dear Families,

Welcome to the start of another wonderful school year! If we haven't met, my name is Kevin Rodemack, and I am the principal at Churchill High School. I am beyond excited to welcome our students back into the halls. There is nothing quite like the energy, laughter, and enthusiasm that our kids bring to school every day. We have missed them, and our staff is fully prepared to make this year filled with growth, learning, and fun.

As we gear up for day one, I want to partner with you early to help set our students up for the absolute best start possible. Transitioning from summer fun back into a structured school routine can be tough, but starting early makes a world of difference.

Getting Ready for the School Routine
Over the next week or so, I strongly encourage you to begin guiding your students back into their regular school-year schedule. Slowly adjusting bedtimes and wake-up times before the first day of school helps eliminate first-week exhaustion and makes those early morning routines much smoother for everyone.

The Foundation for Success: Sleep and Nutrition
When it comes to daily success in the classroom, two things matter more than almost anything else: consistent sleep and proper nutrition.

  • Prioritize Sleep: Growing minds need adequate rest to focus, manage emotions, and learn effectively. Students should be getting a minimum of 8 hours of sleep each night—though 9 hours is even better.
  • Balanced Fuel: What our students put into their bodies directly impacts their energy and attention span. We want to make sure our kids are fueled with balanced meals and healthy snacks, not just energy drinks and Takis. Encouraging water, balanced breakfasts, and nourishing foods gives them the long-lasting stamina they need to thrive.

Thank you for your partnership, your support, and for entrusting us with your children. Together, we are going to make this an incredible school year!

Please reach out to our admin team if you ever have any questions or concerns.

Go, Lancers!

Principal
