Welcome back, Lancers!
We're so excited for the new school year to begin! This year, we're continuing to make your back-to-school tasks as smooth as possible, with most items available to complete conveniently online. You'll find everything you need right here on this page.
Check your mailbox! A student profile will be mailed to the student’s primary address. We ask that parents thoroughly review the profile information and follow the instructions in the mailing to submit any corrections.
Don't forget to reconnect with friends and get all your questions answered at our C-Hill Back-to-School Check-in and Chill on Thursday, August 21, from 4:00 – 6:00 pm! It's a great chance to grab some sweet treats, play games, and get help with any lingering back-to-school tasks.

C-Hill Back-to-School Check-in and Chill 🍦🍧🍿

Join us for sweet treats, games, and a chance to reconnect with your classmates. Staff members will be there to answer questions and help you complete back-to-school tasks. 9th graders and new students: Student computers will be distributed at this event!

A student profile will be mailed to each student's primary residence. Please review the information on the profile, make any corrections directly on the document using red ink, and return it to the front office.
Alternatively, you can submit the corrections by scanning the profile and sending it as a PDF attachment to the registrar's email. We cannot accept corrections written in the body of an email or communicated over the phone.
Parents with educational rights can request a copy of their child’s profile at the front office at any time.
Student profiles include:
- Student information: name, date of birth, etc.
- Parent/guardian names and contact information
- Emergency contact names and contact information
- Student medical history

2025–26 4J Annual Permissions and Opt Out Forms (all students)
Parents/guardians must complete these forms each school year to renew permissions or opt-outs. You can download the forms from the 4J website at the links below, or come to the Churchill Front Office for a paper copy.

Students are responsible for taking care of their student technology. Please read our Technology Appropriate Use Guidelines.
Prepare your student computer
- Plug in the laptop’s power adapter. Let it charge for 15 minutes. Power on the laptop.
- Log in to the 4J Student user account. The password is: student
- Connect the laptop to wi-fi and the Internet.
- If you see an error message saying the clock needs to be set, finish step 4 then restart the laptop. You may need to restart the laptop several times to sync the clock.
For assistance, fill out a help request.
Check your student email and make sure your 4J accounts are working.

Check your student computer for an Operating System Upgrade
Operating system upgrades help protect the computers and keep you connected to the tools you need for school.
Before you start:
If you haven’t been using your student computer over the summer, the computer battery may have drained, and you will need to charge it and turn it on to allow the clock to update before you can complete the operating system upgrade. Follow these instructions for starting up the computer

Complete the upgrade:

The upgrade may take several hours to complete. Do not attempt to complete this update using a cellular signal or hotspot. Make sure your computer is in a safe place where it can remain plugged in and will not be disturbed during the upgrade.

LTD Transit Pass:
Students can get a free LTD student transit pass from the front office at any time.
Passes are valid from September 1 of the current school year to September 30 of the following year and can be renewed by the school each year for ongoing free service.

The student must be signed in to 4J Google to access this form. A parent’s digital signature is required for students under 18. One parking permit per vehicle.
Step 2: Pay for your Parking Permit (non-refundable) — $50
Additional permits for multiple vehicles in the same household: $5.00 each.

All Eugene 4J students eat FREE through CEP (Community Eligibility Provision). All students are offered free breakfast and lunch regardless of family income. High schoolers can also get a free after-school meal!

Lockers belong to the school district and are assigned for the convenience of students. At Churchill, lockers are only assigned to students who request them.
Use this form to request a locker (must be signed in to a 4J Google account).

Find and return your overdue library books.
Check your account for overdue books on the CHS Library page. Overdue library books can be returned to the front office anytime. Overdue charges will be waived for any books returned before the first day of classes.

Student class schedules will be ready to view in ParentVUE/StudentVUE no earlier than Friday, August 22, at 4:00 PM.
Use the online Schedule Correction Request Form to request a correction to your class schedule. The form will be posted on the Scheduling page after student schedules are published. DO NOT EMAIL YOUR COUNSELOR FOR A SCHEDULE CORRECTION.

Getting ready for high school is an exciting step! To help you start the school year right, we've put together a suggested supply list. This list was created with input from Churchill High School teachers and experienced students to include items that are most helpful for organizing your schoolwork.
As a 9th grader, you'll be taking a variety of courses, and some may require specific materials. This list is a general guide, so feel free to personalize it based on your needs and preferences. You'll get more details about any required course-specific items on your teachers' syllabi during the first week of school.

- 3-ring binder or zipper binder with dividers
- Loose-leaf paper
- 8 pocket folders (one for each subject)
- 8 spiral notebooks (one for each subject)
