Working Together as We Begin Semester 2
Dear Churchill Families,
As we begin Semester 2 and move closer to the home stretch of the 2025–26 school year, I want to sincerely thank you for the support, care, and partnership you continue to show our students and our school. This point in the year is a natural moment for a fresh start, an opportunity for students to reflect on their growth, reset their focus, and recommit to finishing the year with confidence and purpose.
One of the greatest strengths our students have is the team that surrounds them. When families and schools work together, staying present, engaged, and connected, it makes a meaningful difference. Simple actions like checking in with your student, having conversations about school, encouraging good habits, and supporting attendance send a powerful message: you are supported, and your success matters. Those moments of engagement help keep students motivated, grounded, and moving forward.
As we continue through the second semester, we look forward to strengthening our partnership with you. By reinforcing positive routines, maintaining high expectations, and staying connected with teachers and staff, we can work together to help students overcome challenges, celebrate their progress, and stay focused on their goals. Our shared commitment truly shapes their experience.
Thank you for everything you do to support our students and for helping make Churchill such a welcoming and special place to learn. We are grateful to be on this journey with you and look forward to finishing the year strong—together.
Go, Lancers!
Mike Hillman, Assistant Principal

Dear Families,
Oregon’s Erin’s Law (Senate Bill 856) requires all public schools to provide annual, age-appropriate lessons that help students recognize unsafe situations and understand how to seek help. These child abuse prevention lessons are presented in a supportive, developmentally appropriate way.
This year, our high school will deliver four Erin’s Law lessons during Advisory to meet state requirements.
Opt-Out Option
Parents/guardians (and students 18+) may choose to opt out of this instruction in accordance with OAR 581-022-2050 (5). If you would like your student excused from the four Advisory lessons, please complete this short Google form:
Note: Students enrolled in Health will receive additional sexual health instruction as part of that course. A separate opt-out process will be provided at that time.
Previewing Lessons
If you would like to review the Erin’s Law materials or have any questions, please contact the front office—we are happy to provide access and support.
Thank you for your partnership in helping keep all students safe.

Our community is rich with resources and skilled, compassionate providers. Our hope is that this guide will be a support to families as they navigate systems and access services. At this time, Relief Nursery is not able to translate the entire Resource Guide into Spanish, though we recognize the need and hope to pursue that project in the future. The Resource Guide includes some Spanish language translation, particularly in the areas that specifically focus on serving Hispanic and Latino clients, English as a Second Language classes, and Immigration and Migrant services.
